Location
Our camp is located at 132 North 5th Street in the heart of Williamsburg in our state of the art classrooms. We are fortunate to have beautiful indoor air conditioned lofts as well as large windows and plenty of sunlight.
Staff
Child development is the most significant ingredient in a healthy camp experience. This is why our staff is the real secret to our success. Our experienced counselors are known for their personal warmth and ability to care for each child as an individual. Many staff members return year after year, lending experience and continuity to all programs. Each counselor is a role model for our children, promising them friendship which will last forever! Their love for the children is surpassed only by the children’s love for them.
Culture
Gan Israel campers are imbued with a deep sense of pride in their Jewish heritage and a love for the land of Israel. Weekly Judaic themes are taught through exciting activities, stories, songs, games and contests, which are part of the unique Gan Israel experience.
Camp Gan Israel was created to provide children with a fun and meaningful summer program, while fostering growth individually and socially in a Jewish atmosphere. The daily schedule includes an exciting mix of sports, field trips, special programs and activities designed to be educational, fun, and conducive to building character and nurturing friendships.
Lunch Program
Camp Gan Israel provides a delicious hot lunch for all the campers at no additional charge. We ask that parents do not send in any food due to Kosher policies at our camp. If your child has any food allergies please let us know. Please be advised that our lunch program is peanut free.
Soccer
Our campers will receive coaching in soccer once a week. The fun filled classes include soccer activities that enhance and develop motor skills and physical fitness.
Yoga
Children will experience a wonderful introduction to the world of yoga, with special focus on coordination, flexibility, strength and balance. The instructor provides top quality instruction to this enjoyable and high energy yoga session.
Cooking Class
The children will enjoy weekly cooking class and will learn to make sushi, edible paint, parfait, granola and more.
Crafting Workshop
Campers will get busy crafting cool projects once a week in their crafting workshop.
Music Class
Once a week campers will enjoy an interactive and high energy Hebrew & English concert with Mariel Sol and her guitar.
Shabbat Program & Challah Baking
Children love our weekly Shabbat parties! Our exciting and inspirational Shabbat Extravaganza is a wonderful way for the children to end their camp week and to take home the warmth and joy of camp for Shabbat.
Tzedakah
We encourage the children to bring tzedakah (money for charity) every day. A penny or two is fine. The point is to develop a daily habit of sharing. It also helps children associate money with giving and doing a good deed.
